3 Easy Ways to Use Business Energetics

In all the years I have been working with expat teachers creating retirement businesses, I am always amazed at just how many of them believe engaging in a regular, inner practice takes too much of their precious time.

Well, I’m here to tell you: nothing could be further from the truth!

It breaks my heart, but most of these folks are needlessly headed for chronic stress, which in turn makes it harder to spot opportunities for expanding their retirement businesses. And the worst part is: it just doesn’t have to happen!

If you would like to avoid their fate (and I KNOW you do!) here are three stunningly beautiful ways to use business energetics to increase your well being and expand your perception of the opportunities to create retirement businesses.

Business Energetics refers to any technique or system that helps teacher entrepreneurs tap into their body’s energy systems to reduce stress and maintain wellbeing, gather useful information, and create desired change.

Many successful people write about how they are able to increase their business success through having a regular, inner practice. This helps increase the internal harmony within their body-mind-spirit. This, in turn, makes it easier for them to maintain a high level of well being and able to perceive new business opportunities. The following business energetics techniques can easily fit into your busy day.

3 Ideas for Developing Your Business Energetics Practice

1. Android Gallery

The Android Gallery app lets you create slideshows using the picture and music files you have on your phone. (Other smart devices have similar apps.)

For example: On my Android phone I downloaded almost 300 inspiring photos from Pinterest. Then I went into the Gallery app and clicked on Pins. I set up the slideshow function with my favourite meditation mp3 and set the picture advance to every 5 seconds. Even though it’s difficult for me to meditate for more than 5 minutes, I can easily stay engaged with the meditation by just gazing at the pictures.

2. Meditation Timer App

Amazon App store has a meditation timer app. You can set your meditation time for as little as 2 minutes, 10 minutes, or over 30 minutes. There are pleasant gong and nature sounds and a signal to indicate the end of your meditation.

The best part for me is I can set the time of day I want to meditate and it will send me a notification to remind me.

3. Heart Smile

A very fast and simple practice is to bring your attention to your heart and imagine something that makes you smile in your heart. Lightly focus your attention on your heart smile image and feel your heart space until the smile spreads to your whole body.

When I do the Heart Smile I take a few breaths to clear my mind, then I take a deep breath and mentally follow it down to my heart chakra centre. Then I focus on a memory I have of seeing the setting sun reflecting off of some cliffs by a lake. I try to bring the memory alive by re-creating how the sunlight was reflecting off of the cliffs. I also imagine the gentle wave action of the water and how the sunlight shimmered on the water’s surface. I stay in this calm feeling and let it expand within me for about 3 minutes. Then after this brief refresher I’m ready to continue on with my day.

No matter how busy expat teachers are in building their retirement businesses, chances are they’re missing out on developing a regular business energetics practice. They retain too much stress in their body, causing lower health and making it difficult to see opportunities for expanding their retirement businesses. The good news: you can use the simple steps I have outlined above to ease your transition to being a successful teacher entrepreneur.
